In addition to the recent trip to China, the Mad-City Ski Team recently had another member, Mallory Zink, travel as part of ski team to perform some ski shows in Jamaica. Here’s a little bit of info about her trip.

Ski America: Jamaica 2010

Former Mad-City Ski Team member, Chris Coupland, was invited down to Jamaica to provide a water ski shows at a local festival. “Lucea Cross the Harbour” is a festival in Jamaica at Lucea Car Park, which brings people from all around Jamaica to partake in activities such as swims, boat rides and entertainment throughout the day. This five day trip included a total of eleven skiers, one announcer, and a boat driver which compiled to make-up this very skilled team, three of which are current and former Mad-City members. Those Mad-City members were: Jeff Jacobson, Chris Coupland, and Mallory Zink.

The trip was an absolute success. Show skiing has never been seen in Jamaica, making it very entertaining for spectators at the festival. Since it is not a sport that is seen, a team member went down and built a ski jump and floater from scratch. The team was to perform three shows throughout the festival day, but due to rain and storms or what they call “liquid sunshine” they ended up providing two very compelling shows.

The team had a blast and looks forward to the future. The festival committee was very impressed with show skiing and sees the team coming down again in the upcoming years to provide more entertainment.
